Where: The Crabtree Falls Day Use Area parking lot is located 6 miles down State Road 56 off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Nelson County near milepost 27.  We will meet there at 9:45.  There is a $3 fee for parking.

What to expect: This out & back hike is 2.8 miles long with an elevation gain of 1,072 feet.  It is rated moderate/strenuous.  During the 2-2.5 hour hike, we will stop at different overlooks that offer views of the highest vertical-drop cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River and the

 valley below.  After the hike, we will meet for lunch at Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton (optional).

Bring a jacket, snacks, sunscreen, and water.
